I picked this book up at the LBS with the intention of giving it to DH for Valentine’s Day. However, DD1 kind of ruined the surprise took the initiative to give Daddy a gift a little earlier than expected.
Not only is this family caffeinated, we are also very plugged in. In fact at this very moment, DH is giving the girls a bath while reading a novel on his iPad. I am writing this post on the laptop while tweeting on my iPad and Christian music is playing on the Christian music station on the satellite dish. (It’d be Pandora if I wan’t tweeting.)
So I was at LBS in early January and spied this little book called Goodnight iPad by Ann Droyd. (Get it?)
This book is written in the style of Goodnight Moon, but with little wittisms such as:
In the bright buzzing room
There was an iPad
And a kid playing Doom
And a screensaver of-
A bird launching over the moon
There were three little Nooks
With ten thousand books
And a huge LCD
Wi-Fi HDTV
With Bose 5.1,
Six remotes, and 3-D
And a BlackBerry ringing
With Eminem singing…
(pgs. 1-7)
This book made me laugh but does point out how electronics can really take over our lives if we let them. It’s a clean parody enjoyable for adults and kids alike and it even has some references just for grown-ups! (i.e. Eminem) And would make a great gift for the plugged in techie in your life!

I was neither paid nor given a copy of this book for my review. I just really like the book.

We have that book too. So funny.
HAHA I LOVE it! I need this book! It is crazy how plugged in we are ALL the time. I once read a quote “a clean house happens when the internet goes down” so true
that is so true! When the Internet goes down, I first FREAK OUT. Then call DH expecting him to fix the Internet over the phone. Then it starts working again and all is well.
