I am happy to announce the beginning of a new blog series, “Reflecting on The Beatitudes.” This series will run on Sundays (through April 15) and will feature posts by other Catholic bloggers, reflecting on the teaching points made by Jesus during His Sermon on the Mount.
Most of us know the Beatitudes as the “Blessed Are…” points and they are meant to be teachings on how to best live our lives. We are called to be poor in spirit, to mourn, to be meek, to hunger and thirst for righteousness, to have mercy, to be pure in heart, to be peacemakers and to be persecuted.
Taken on it’s head, it’s kind of an odd list, but Jesus tells us that if we indeed live out our lives in this way, we are given great rewards. We are never given more than we can handle and I hope this blog series inspires you to reflect more fully on the Beatitudes in your own life.
Next week Sunday, we will hear from Katie, who writes at Imperfect Kate, writing about being blessed while being “Poor in Spirit.”
I hope this series brings you peace, joy and just a bit closer to Christ!
