It’s Derby Weekend! I have never lived in Kentucky, have never attended the Derby but I absolutely love Derby weekend! We watch on TV every year and there is just something about the pageantry and the history and let’s admit it… the hats!

We do live near the Santa Anita Race Track so we could head there and watch a few races… but it’s just not Churchill Downs.

DD1 has been rooting for her favorite horse for the last 2 years… Big Red. AKA: Secretariat. Thank you, Disney.

So, you know that Blog Series on the Beatitudes? The idea’s been tossed about to turn the series into an e-book devotional. What are your thoughts on that? And the bigger question: How much would you pay for an e-devotional? (We are thinking of donating the funds to a non-profit TBD)

5.

Tomorrow is Cinco de Mayo and I am happy to say that YES, I know what is being celebrated on Cinco de Mayo (and not it’s not the day that Corona was first brewed.)

When I think of all of the Cinco de Mayo celebrations, I can’t help but wonder what patriotic Americans would feel if people celebrated July 4th without knowing WHY we are celebrating July 4th. Hmmmm….

Caught this little bit on “The Colbert Report” the other night and I found it to be pretty clever. If you have the time, make sure to watch the interview with Fr. Thomas Reese that follows.
