I know, two posts about disagreement in two days? What’s going on CCM? No, things are great here, but yesterday’s post really got me thinking?

How many of us are comfortable with disagreeing with friends, family or even strangers?

It seems that when we are learning social norms and mores, the trend is that it’s better to agree than dare disagree. Hence the old adage to avoid the topics of religion and politics among friends, family and even strangers.

But where is the fun in that?

I talk about a myriad of topics here and admittedly, these are my own opinions but I love when there is disagreement… because new ideas and thoughts come out of it. I have the honor of having many close (old) friends as readers and well as new friends and perfect strangers. But the thing that I have learned about blogging is that it’s important to have a certain degree of humility.

Admittedly, it is hard to read a critique of what you have written, but at the same time, I have learned so many new ideas and viewpoints to which I would have otherwise remained ignorant. One of the best things that I learned from reading a parenting book was the acronym “QTIP,” Quit Taking It Personally. Not only is this good advice for parenting but for life in general. I am fortunate to have commenters that leave comments that are not only thought provoking but at the same time focused on the exchange of ideas and not just making fun of people. (I am sure part of that reason is that I don’t allow anonymous comments. Hehehe!)

But seriously, the whole point of this post is to thank you all for reading and especially commenting!
