Long overdue Review: Catholic Family Gifts

You know how life sometimes just gets in the way and next thing you know it’s June and you’ve been meaning to write a blog post for a Catholic Gifts Company for almost… 3 months. Eeek.

With sincere apologies to Ruth, et al., here is a most belated review.

I was independently contacted by Ruth At Catholic Family Gifts and asked if I would be interested in reviewing one of their products and hosting a giveaway. I was able to choose the gift most applicable for my family and so I chose:

The Red Plate!

I know quite a few families who have gone to one of those paint your own pottery places and made their own “Special” plates, but there was something so eye catching about the red in this plate!

So far we have used it for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, but I will say that Brigid can’t wait to use the Red Plate for her Birthday in July.

Here’s Daddy happy with the Red Plate (and the girls) during yesterday’s dinner.

The plate has a diameter of 10.5 inches (the size of a standard dinner plate) and is made in Germany by the Waechtersbach company. Made of ceramic and fired with Waechterbach’s traditional cherry red, the plate comes with a permanent marker to record each and every time you use your special plate. To preserve the integrity and history of this plate… be sure to hand wash only!

Catholic Family Gifts is a family-owned business, based in the Midwest (Rockford, IL)  and a great place to start for your online Catholic shopping needs. There you will find Baptism Gifts, Wedding Gifts, First Communion Gifts, Home and Garden, Jewlery… you name it, they might have it!

From their website:

That plate is such a sweet idea!

  2. We LOVE our red plate! It is the wedding gift that my mom gives to close friends and family. I have so many memories from when I was young and now my own family has that tradition too!

  3. How adorable are the Noah’s Ark alphabet rugs?? I’d love one of those to decorate my son’s room and help him learn his letters!

I love the red plate. Every year we make a big deal on birthdays and un (half) birthdays. We sing to the special person as many times a day as we can remember and by the end of the day there is a sigh. (Does that mean they enjoyed being remembered or are glad it’s finally over? Hmm.
As a gift I would give the Illustrated Bible. My children loved looking at the pictures as I read to them from the Bible when they were little.
