Volume 11! Sometimes I think I should stop numbering the volumes because it reminds me how many weeks I’ve missed blogging! Anyway, this week’s outfit features what could be a new hobby of mine… re-fashioning!

I’ve mentioned that I’ve read Overdressed and toward the end, refashioning is mentioned. The basic thought is, instead of buying new clothes, take old clothes and re-make them. Easy Peasy.

The skirt is the item I re-fashioned. It is an 100% cotton skirt with kind of a crinkly texture. The original length was a bit longer than tea length and honestly, just fell in a weird spot on me (I’m 5’9″ (175 cm) tall, for reference.) So, this skirt just hung in my closet, looking all sad and dejected.

This morning, before Mass, I grabbed my pinking shears and made my first BIG chop into re-fashioning. The pinking will keep the edges of this woven fabric from fraying until I have the chance to add a blind hem to the bottom. I can honestly say, I like the skirt that much better now that it [will fall] just above the knee.

I am planning on showing more of my refashions as I come across them. This weekend, the hubs and I cleared out our entire bedroom and I have a small container of items that I didn’t just want to give away and instead would like to transform!

Happy Father’s Day to all fathers: biological, adoptive, spiritual and especially Heavenly.

It’s been a few months since I’ve done a Twitterature post… I feel as if I’ve read more books… but I guess not. Enjoy!

Making me re-think my fashion choices. Cheap really isn’t a good deal if I have to replace it every 2 months. Kind of bummed that quality fashion is hard to come by now, though.

A young adult read that doesn’t rely much on the supernatural. Featuring ladies learning to be spies and how to curtsey, this Steampunk read is plain fun. Would recommend to anyone who loves young adult fiction.
